FAQ FOR PROFESSIONAL SMART FOR RESIDENTIAL

WIFI PRODUCTS

1. WHAT DO I NEED TO GET STARTED WITH SMART+ WI-FI LAMPS? PLEASE MAKE SURE THE FOLLOWING 4 POINTS:

a. The device is powered on and is in the state of the network to be deployed.
b. Wi-Fi router is in 2.4G band, and the signal is stable.
c. The phone is connected to the router which the device needs to be connected
d. Devices, mobile phones, and routers are closed to each other.

2. HOW CAN SMART+ Wi-Fi LAMPS BE RESET?

Individual SMART+ Wi-Fi lamps can be reset to factory setting and reconfigured without the entire smart home system having to be reinstalled. Just delete the lamp in your Smart Home system or manually reset it by:

To reset a SMART+ Wi-Fi RGBW or Tunable lamp to factory setting, switch it ON for three seconds then OFF for three seconds four times in succession. When switched on again, the lamp flashes as confirmation and can now be incorporated in a smart home system again.

3. How to distinguish “ADD DEVICE_SMART CONFIG” and “ADD DEVICE_AP CONFIG”?

By default, you can reset the device until the light blink slowly, then you can connect the device by “ADD DEVICE_AP CONFIG”. As below table advice, please make sure 1) your household router only support 2.4GHz;2) You would like to add several devices at one time, then you can reset the device until the light blink quickly, after that, you can switch your APP to “ADD DEVICE_SMART CONFIG” mode to add the device by smart config.

4. WHAT CAN I DO IF A SMART+ Wi-Fi LAMP IS NOT WORKING?

Please make sure that the SMART+ Wi-Fi lamp in question has a working power supply and is switched on. The lamp can only receive commands when the electricity/light switch is turned on.

Please switch off the power supply to the SMART+ Wi-Fi lamp in question when connecting it and then switch it on again. The connection may take up to three minutes.

If the lamp is still not connected please restart the LEDVANCE SMART+ app, the Amazon Alexa app or Google Home app and you can also try to restart your smartphone or tablet.

Please make sure the smartphone or tablet you use has a working connection to the internet. If you are connecting to the internet via Wi-Fi and your smartphone or tablet is not connecting to the internet, a restart of the router might help to fix the problem.

There are various external circumstances that could disrupt the functionality of the SMART+ Wi-Fi product. Please try the following to reduce them:

  • Reduce the distance between the SMART+ Wi-Fi product and the smartphone or tablet.
  • Turn off devices that could produce additional Wi-Fi signals near the SMART+ Wi-Fi products and the smartphone or tablet.
  • Surfaces that are made of electrically conductive materials might have a negative influence on the Wi-Fi signal. Please try to remove them. Obstacles like walls may also impair the range.
Reset the device to blink slowly and make sure you use the “ADD DEVICE_AP CONFIG” mode.
It may help to re-add the SMART+ Wi-Fi lamp in question to your system.

5. HOW CAN SMART+ Wi-Fi LAMPS BE UPDATED?

SMART+ Wi-Fi lamps can only be updated by using the “LEDVANCE APM SMART+ Wi-Fi” app.

6. WHAT IS THE WIRELESS RANGE OF SMART+ Wi-Fi LAMPS?

For household router, the wireless range is about 10~50m.

7. CAN I OPERATE SMART+ Wi-Fi LAMPS USING THE TRADITIONAL LIGHT SWITCH?

Yes. You can use your traditional light switch to switch your SMART+ Wi-Fi lamps on and off.

8. CAN I DIM SMART+ Wi-Fi LAMPS WITH A CONVENTIONAL DIMMER?

No. It is not possible to dim our SMART+ Wi-Fi lamps with a conventional dimmer. Of course, you can dim SMART+ Wi-Fi lamps by using LEDVANCE SMART+ app, the Amazon Alexa App, Google Home App or Siri Shortcut.
